Damien Kurek

Principal

Raised in Consort, in Alberta's Special Areas, Damien's roots are deeply embedded in the Canadian prairies with his wife and 3 children, and he remains involved in his family's farm. His journey to public service began early, fostered by a passion for politics and good governance that led to senior roles as a Member of Parliament, staffer, and Conservative strategist. He holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science and Communications from Trinity Western University, along with an associate diploma in Biblical Studies from Eston College.

Damien held key roles in the Conservative Caucus, most recently as the Shadow Minister for Canadian Heritage. His other parliamentary roles included serving as Deputy Shadow Minister for Rural Economic Development and Broadband Strategy and Vice-Chair of the Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development. He also served as a member of the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security, the Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics, and the Special Committee on Canada-China Relations. Additionally, he addressed specific issues before numerous other committees, including Justice, Indigenous Relations, National Defence, Natural Resources, Veterans Affairs, and Human Resources. He was also involved in various parliamentary associations, diplomatic efforts, and advocacy on and off Parliament Hill.

Prior to his election as an MP, Damien gained experience working in federal and provincial politics, including for former Minister and MP Kevin Sorenson and within the Saskatchewan Legislative Assembly during Brad Wall's premiership.
